Collagen and Elastin Decline

From the age of 30, collagen and elastin decrease by about 1 to 1.5% each year. The structures that support the skin gradually diminish.

As the dermis loosens, the surrounding support that holds pores in shape weakens and pores become more visible, particularly on the cheeks and around the nose.
Reduced Moisture Retention

Hyaluronic acid synthesis decreases, leaving the deeper skin dehydrated. On the surface this can present as dryness and dullness.
Rougher Skin Texture

As keratin turnover slows, the surface of the skin becomes rougher and duller. This is a fundamental reason why makeup no longer settles well.

Even high-quality skincare cannot reach the dermal layer.
Surface care alone cannot reverse a loss of elasticity.

Epidermal-level care

Most skincare ingredients penetrate only as far as the epidermis. They have limited direct effect on the loss of collagen in the dermis.
Temporary hydration

Moisturizers help reduce surface water loss but cannot replenish hyaluronic acid within the dermis.
Lifting without stimulation

Collagen regeneration requires appropriate stimulation. Without energy-based devices, dermal remodeling is difficult to achieve.
